Woman Believed To Be Central Coast Bandit Pleads Not Guilty

The woman believed to be the Central Coast Bandit is due back in court next week for a preliminary hearing. Fifty-year-old Cristina Padilla of Watsonville pleaded not guilty yesterday to committing half-a-dozen bank robberies in Central California since December. She was arrested last Friday after an attempted robbery and high-speed chase in San Luis Obispo County. Her bail has been set at one-million dollars. Her next court appearance is September 4.
