Woman Arrested After Residents Allegedly Find Her Robbing Their Home

San Luis Obispo, CA — Yesterday at about 9:00 in the morning, two residents of an apartment at 60 Casa St woke up to find 32-year-old Sandra Welsh in their residence in the act of stealing various items, including a laptop computer, and other household items.  When the residents confronted Welsh, who was unknown to them, Welsh picked up a wooden baseball bat and struck both residents causing minor injuries to both.  The residents were able to overcome her and detain her until police officers arrived.  Welsh was arrested for robbery, residential burglary, and assault with a deadly weapon. 
During the investigation, Welsh was found to be in possession of other likely stolen property that was not taken from the apartment at 60 Casa St.  
Welsh was wearing a Sierra Vista Hospital bracelet indicating that she had been recently discharged.  She had also allegedly stolen numerous items from the hospital, including a television and dvd player.   
Welsh was booked into custody at SLO County Jail.
