The Amgen Tour will arrive in the Central Coast by the end of tomorrow. Some of the best bicycle riders in the world are heading into a difficult Stage Three of the Amgen Tour of California today. Unusually hot weather with temperatures in the 90s will challenge riders as they tackle the 108-mile ride from east San Jose to Mount Diablo State Park.
The route will feature a ten-thousand-900-foot elevation change, crossing over the summit of both Mount Hamilton and Mount Diablo. Stage Four tomorrow will start in Monterey and end in Cambria, and Stage Five will start on Thursday on the Pismo Beach Pier. Former Olympic champion and Tour de France winner Bradley Wiggins captured Monday's Stage Two time trial in Folsom.
