On July 31, at approximately 9:00 a.m., the San Luis Obispo Police Department served a search warrant at 1271 Murray in San Luis Obispo. Police investigators received information that 28-year-old Jason Lytle had downloaded child pornography onto his computer. Lytle is a registered sex offender in the City of San Luis Obispo and failed to respond to the police department when contacted.
At the conclusion of the service of the search warrant, multiple electronic devices were removed from the location. A forensic examination of the computers revealed a substantial amount of child pornography.
Based on the evidence seized at Lytle’s apartment a warrant has been issued for his arrest.
On November 16, Lytle was arrested by the Miami Division of the FBI. Lytle is facing Federal charges related to the possession and distribution of child pornography.
Lytle is still facing charges in California and it is not known if he will be extradited.
