Police Use K-9 To Subdue Car Thief

Arroyo Grande, CA — Arroyo Grande High School was placed on lockdown yesterday after an Oceano man got into a foray with local police.  30-year-old Brandon Michael Creary allegedly stole a truck from a nearby 7-11 about 11:30 and was pulled over by police but refused to get out of his car.  Instead he rammed a couple of cop cars, and sped off to a field near the high school on Fair Oaks Blvd.

When Creary failed to cooperate, police used their K-9 to bring him under submission. Creary was subdued and taken to the hospital with dog bite wounds.

Creary was later booked at the San Luis Obispo County Jail on charges of vehicle theft, assault on a peace officer, evading peace officers, resisting arrest, hit and run, being under the influence of illegal narcotics, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
