Man Arrested For Firing Shotgun

San Luis Obispo, CA -- A California Valley man was arrested yesterday morning after allegedly firing a 12-gauge shotgun in a reported domestic violence incident Sunday night. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies arrested 39-year-old Charles Lee Boyd, after an overnight search. Deputies were initially called to a home on Cresta Blanca Trail in California Valley just before 8 o’clock Sunday night to investigate a report that a gun had been fired. When deputies arrived, Boyd had fled the area in his pickup truck with at least two weapons. Officers found Boyd’s truck at about 7 o’clock yesterday morning, crashed at French Camp Vineyards in Shandon. Officers initiated an intensive search with help from a CHP airplane, a K-9 unit and a 4X4 from the state Department of Fish and Game. After about two hours they found Boyd and arrested him. Boyd was booked on suspicion of domestic violence, terrorist threats and discharging a firearm at an occupied residence. The domestic violence charge has been dropped, but the other two felony charges remain. No word how Boyd is connected to the victims or to the home where the shooting took place.
