Pismo Beach Police: Beware Of Lotto Scam
King Harris Reporting
Pismo Beach, CA -- Pismo Beach police want to warn you of a new Internet lottery scam. An e-mail is sent to a “beneficiary” (you) from the Department of Homeland Security in Montgomery, Alabama. The e-mail states the individual has won a large amount of money from an unnamed lottery company outside the United States, and advises the beneficiary to pay a $150 fee to receive the winnings.
The police department says, “Do not respond to these types of solicitations.” Contact the police instead. You can’t win a lottery that you don’t enter.
