Atascadero Police Looking For Stabbing Suspects

Atascadero -- Police are looking for two men who beat and stabbed a man in Atascadero. Officers responded to a call of a verbal dispute yesterday morning at about 9:30. When they arrived at the home on Santa Lucia, they were greeted by 27-year-old Quincy Simms with two large carving knives. Simms was bleeding from a wound in his thigh and holding the knives menacingly. The Tribune says officers ordered him to drop the weapons, which he did, but only after “he took several steps towards the officers and lunged at them from a distance.”

Simms was arrested and taken to Twin Cities Community Hospital. Allegedly two men attacked Simms; one hit him in the head with a hammer and the other stabbed his thigh. Those two then fled in a yellow truck before officers arrived.
