Farmers Fears Grow Over SLO Downtown Association

San Luis Obispo -- There was a huge turnout at the city council meeting in San Luis Obispo last night.

More than 100 people showed up to express concerns about the complete takeover of Farmers Market by the Downtown Association.

The Downtown Association up until a couple of weeks ago oversaw all the events except the affairs of the farmers. Now it is running their show because it says it has liability concerns and that a lack of communication exists between farmers and the association

The farmers, having run a media advertising blitz the past week, fear that they will be pushed into the background and out of any decision making process that affects their interests.

The City Council is urging mediation between the two groups.
