Accused Sexual Predator Arrested

 Goleta -- A Goleta man was arrested for allegedly abusing a young girl for four years. 63-year-old John Owen was entrusted to care for a 7-year-old girl during the weekends in 2000. This arrangement lasted until 2004.
On Tuesday January 26, that girl, now 17 years old, reported to the Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Deputies that Owen had inappropriate relations with her. Detectives contacted Owen, and searched his home. During that search they found graphic pictures of the victim.
Owen was arrested on Friday of last week and booked into the Santa Barbara County Jail on several charges including possession of child porn and continued sexual abuse of a child under 14. He’s posted his $100,000 bail.
