San Luis Obispo -- A woman can’t drive her car for awhile; it was stolen. 23-year-old Yi Tak Choi was driving near the intersection of Campus Way and Crandall at about 8:45 Wednesday evening. She stopped at the stop sign when 23-year-old Ryan Soqui knocked on her passenger side window. She rolled it down to talk, and he opened the door and sat in the car. Soqui then showed a semi-automatic handgun, and told Choi to drive.
Soqui took money and an ATM card from Choi’s purse. They drove around San Luis for a short time looking for a bank. They arrived at the Wells Fargo in the Foothill Plaza where Soqui instructed Choi to withdraw $300. She left the car, and when she was out of Soqui’s sight, ran for help. Soqui then sped off.
He’s on parole and is considered armed and dangerous. If you know anything call the SLO PD at 781-7317.
