Famous Magician Arrested After Firing a Gun in His Home

San Luis Obispo County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a world renowned magician in rural Arroyo Grande yesterday after they received a report of a shot fired. A woman called the sheriff’s department at 10:50 in the morning, claiming her husband had armed himself and fired a shot during an argument. Deputies responded to the home on the 200 block of Country Hills Lane. They arrested 55-year-old Claude Douglas Yarbrough outside the residence. Yarbrough, who is also internationally known illusionist Jonathan Pendragon, was unarmed when the officers arrived and surrendered without incident. Deputies recovered the handgun, as well as four other guns, a shotgun, and a rifle. Yarbrough was booked into the San Luis Obispo County Jail on a list of charges, including assault with a deadly weapon, spousal abuse, terrorist threats, and firing a weapon in a home.
