Santa Barbara County Fire Department Aids Hiker

A Long Beach woman was helped by emergency crews in Santa Barbara County after she reported feeling ill on a hike. The 36-year-old woman was on a camping trip at the Sage Hill Campground in Paradise Canyon. The group of 13 hikers had underestimated the hike and hot weather conditions, and called 911. Emergency crews arrived and determined the hiker was suffering from heat exhaustion. She was given water and assisted down the hill by firefighters.
