Fire Update

A few fires to report this morning.
The first blaze occurred in Atascadero destroying a fifth-wheel trailer and burned approximately an acre of grass. Firefighters were able to contain the flames in about 20 minutes. The fire was caused by a resident mowing too late in the day.
The second fire also happened in Atascadero. Seven homes were threatened by the fire in a field on Carmelita Road around 3:20 yesterday afternoon. Firefighters were able to save the homes. It took them about three hours to put out the flames, burning three acres of grass. Fire officials are continuing to investigate the cause.
Fire crews were able to knock down a fire in 15 minutes in northern San Luis Obispo County. Cal Fire and Santa Margarita Fire Department responded to a small brush fire at the Highway 101/58 interchange at 3:45. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
