Cal Poly Employees May be Required to Take Time Off

Many Cal Poly employees may have to take two days off each month of unpaid furloughs to help with the university’s budget problems. This furlough plan is being proposed for the entire CSU system as an attempt to close the system’s $583 million deficit. The Tribune says public safety employees would be excluded from the plan, but the academic staff would have to take time off. Cal Poly faces losing about 15% of its $223 million annual budget because of state cuts.
