Lynch Sentenced to Federal Prison

Charles Lynch, the former owner of a medical marijuana dispensary in Morro Bay, was sentenced in federal court yesterday to a year and a day in prison. The 47-year-old Lynch had been convicted last summer of possessing more than 100 marijuana plants and distributing pot from his store called Compassionate Caregivers. Prosecutors wanted a five-year sentence. Lynch hoped to avoid any jail time at all, but told KVEC News despite any leniency shown by the judge; he knew he was going to spend some time behind bars. He is currently free pending appeal.
