Witness' Credibility Questioned in Murder Case
|
|
In the on-going murder trial of Chad Westbrooke and Patrick Wollet, their defense attempted to discredit the key prosecution witness 26-year-old Sarah Longsinger-Rey who claimed at first she didn’t know who shot her friend Patrick Holgate to death, but later changed her mind to say it was Westbrooke. Scott Fraser, a memory specialist from LA, took the stand Thursday and testified that a person’s first recollection of an event is most accurate, and as time passes people piece together information to fill in the gaps. Additionally the defense attorney brought Longsinger-Rey’s credibility into question by pointing out that she been drinking, as well as being under the influence of meth before the shooting. The Tribune reports Westbrook and Wollet face up to life in prison if convicted.
