Santa Barbara, CA -- The Santa Barbara Sheriff’s Office has confirmed that Mr. James Purcell who went missing from the Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital area on Monday, February 13, 2012, has been located.  Mr. Purcell was attempting to register himself at a homeless shelter in Berkeley California.  Employees at the shelter were made aware that Mr. Purcell was a missing person when they contacted employees at his assisted living residence in Isla Vista.
 
Details on how Mr. Purcell arrived in the Berkeley area are not known.  Mr. Purcell’s caretakers have been advised.
 
The Sheriff’s Office is thankful for the assistance of the public in locating Mr. Purcell.
