A funeral will be held today for Santa Maria police officer Albert Covarrubias Jr. who was killed in Santa Maria last weekend. Covarrubias was shot by fellow officers after resisting arrest.His family says services will begin at one in the afternoon at the Dudley Hoffman Funeral Home in Santa Maria. It will be followed by a burial at the Santa Maria Cemetery.
According to KSBY, his father said no police officers will be allowed to attend, but it is open to the public.
