Fire Burns SLO Home, Cause Undetermined



San Luis Obispo, CA -- A structure fire in San Luis Obispo yesterday afternoon damaged a fence and nearby home at 1363 Avalon. City fire crews responded to the blaze after next door neighbors had noticed smoke coming from the fence between the two properties and notified 911.  The fire quickly spread from the fence to the eave and roof area of the house.

Fire crews extinguished the fire within 10 minutes of arrival. The fence and the roof of the house suffered moderate damage.  Occupants of the residence were out at the time of the fire, and no civilians or fire personnel were injured. The structure received minimal damage and is able to be occupied.  

Damages were estimated to be approximately $20,000. The cause of the fire is undetermined.
