San Luis Obispo, CA -- John Wesley Barrett, accused in a Paso Robles stabbing death in August with three others people has been found incompetent to stand trial and will undergo more mental screening.
Thursday in San Luis Obispo Superior Court, Judge John Trice ordered more mental screening of Barrett. This might determine if he should be sent to a state mental hospital or a residential facility, if he is not mentally competent to stand trial.
Barrett has pleaded not guilty and remains in County Jail without bail along with three other suspects. All are accused of murdering Robert Uyeno at a motel in Paso on August 22 in what cops are calling a drug related crime.
