SLO City Council to Address Expensive City Improvement Tonight

San Luis Obispo, CA -- The San Luis Obispo City Council will address an expensive issue at tonight’s council meeting. The council may decide tonight whether to spend $786-thousand to fix up a couple of city blocks downtown. The council already has scaled back the project from three blocks to two. The areas in need of improvement are Higuera Street from Morro Street to Garden Street. Staff is proposing to spend $121-thousand dollars of money from the general fund to meet the asking construction price. The improvement would include aesthetic upgrades like mission style sidewalks, new tree grates, trash cans and sign posts.
