Paso Robles, CA -- A call for a suicidal man turned into a stand off with police as the man turned a gun on them. It happened at a home in the 1800 block of Santa Ysabel Road in Paso Robles yesterday afternoon. The Sheriff's Department says 32-year-old Aaron Macay Henson fired at least one round from a rifle over the heads of the deputies as they approached the scene. Investigators say the initial call came from Henson's estranged wife, who said he was armed and suicidal in a garage. Deputies say for that reason they kept a wide perimeter and did not return fire. Investigators say a CHP Helicopter communicated commands to Henson. After going back to the rifle, he eventually surrendered and was booked into San Luis Obispo County Jail on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon.
