San Luis Obispo, CA -- Dan DeVaul and his on going battle with the County of San Luis Obispo heated up in court yesterday. The county is asking the court to appoint a receiver, arguing that DeVaul is not in compliance with health and safety rules. DeVaul’s attorney, John Belsher, has argued that he is trying to bring Sunny Acres “up to code”. And he offered photographs and witnesses showing the Sunny Acres sober-living center is in full compliance of the court’s orders. But, county officials says it’s too little too late. The saga continues when testimony resumes next Thursday. DeVaul fears that a receiver would force a lien on his Los Osos Valley Road ranch.
