Occupy SLO Continues Downtown

San Luis Obispo, CA -- For a month a growing group of protesters have been camping out in a small park in lower Manhattan. Saturday afternoon, a long line of placard-bearing protesters marched down the sidewalks of Higuera Street in downtown San Luis Obispo as part of a worldwide day of solidarity with the weeks-old Occupy Wall Street movement that started in New York City.

Organizers of OccupySLO began their day of protests at noon in front of the San Luis Obispo Superior Court to remind politicians that the economic system should work for the many, not the few. The marchers made their way through downtown chanting “We are the 99 percent” and “This is what democracy looks like.”
