Nipomo, CA -- CAL FIRE says a man died this week after suffering a heat related injury at a construction site in Nipomo. Emergency crews from CAL FIRE and San Luis Ambulance were called out to a construction site off Highway 101 and North Thompson Avenue just before 3:00p.m on Wednesday. Fire officials say the man was taken to Arroyo Grande Community Hospital were he passed away.

His family has identified him as 41-year-old Jesse Maldonado of Nipomo. Sheriff’s investigators say an autopsy is scheduled for next week.
