U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement Arrest Nine

San Luis Obispo, CA -- A huge, nationwide sweep by federal immigration and custom agents led to arrests in all 50 states. About 2,900 immigrants with criminal records were picked up. The U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, also known as "I.C.E.," was behind the "Cross Check" operation. This comes after the Obama Administration announced several months ago it would focus on deporting immigrants with serious crimes on their records. I.C.E. confirmed nine people were arrested in Santa Barbara County including one person in Santa Maria. There were no arrests made in San Luis Obispo County.
