Hundreds of Students May Be Denied Schooling for Not Having Booster Shots

Santa Maria, CA -- Despite the efforts of school administrators, there are still hundreds of local students who don't have their booster shots and the deadline is quickly approaching. It's down to the wire for Central Coast students to get their vaccine for the whooping cough, which is called the Tdap vaccine. If not, students won't be allowed in school and action will be taken.

The Santa Maria-Bonita School District says it's even now resorted to staff knocking on doors to either get the paperwork for students showing they had their booster shots or to get those signed waivers if the parents oppose the vaccine. In that school district, there are around 50 students who fall in that category and about a thousand more students at the Santa Maria high school level.
