Los Osos, CA -- Volunteers helped raise a sunken sailboat out of the water in Los Osos Wednesday. The 22-foot sailboat sank about five years ago in the Cuesta Inlet after the owner abandoned it. It took dive volunteers more than four hours to float the boat to the surface. The project kicks off an early start to Coastal Cleanup Day this weekend. Celebrate Los Osos coordinated the event. Volunteers will cut up the boat and take it to the dump on Saturday. They say it took three years to pull it from the water.
