Santa Barbara, CA -- 700 acres burned in the Figueroa Fire in Tepesquet Canyon and 1500 acres burned near Soda Lake in the California Valley this weekend.As of yesterday morning, a 700 acre wildfire burning in the Los Padres National Forest in Santa Barbara County was about 70-percent contained. The U.S. Forest Service says the Figueroa Fire, which is burning southeast of Santa Maria, started Saturday afternoon. Precautionary evacuations were issued but have since been lifted. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The blaze near Soda Lake started at about 3 o’clock Saturday in a structure which spread fire into brush. The fire was fully contained at 2 o’clock Sunday afternoon. The cause of the structure fire is under investigation. A barn, vehicle and trailer were destroyed by the fire.
