Cambria, CA -- A Minnesota man who left his eleven-year old son to fend for himself has waived extradition from California. Sixty-year old Steven Cross remains in jail with no bail set. Cross faces charges of child neglect after leaving his son in July with a note, saying he was moving away because of financial trouble. Cross was arrested Monday in Cambria where he was working at a deli. The boy has been staying with relatives because his mother hasn't been heard from in recent years. Cross is expected back in Minnesota within two weeks.
