San Luis Obispo, CA -- A Minnesota man accused of abandoning his 11-year-old son was arrested in Cambria yesterday afternoon. 60-year-old Steven Alexander Cross was arrested by San Luis Obispo County sheriff’s deputies at about 2:45 at Burton and Main streets in Cambria on a warrant out of Minnesota. Cross faces misdemeanor charges of child neglect for abandoning his son after a bank foreclosed on his home in Lakeville, Minnesota. Authorities traced Cross to SLO County after they found a three day reservation for a stay in Morro Bay on Cross’s computer. Detectives canvassed the area last week but were unable to locate Cross or his Ford Windstar van. A patrol deputy spotted the van yesterday and took Cross into custody.
