Atascadero, CA -- Criminal proceedings have been suspended pending a mental evaluation for the woman accused of kidnapping a 4-year-old boy from Atascadero last week. 51-year-old Annette Hale appeared in a San Luis Obispo County courtroom Wednesday morning for her arraignment, following a video arraignment the day before. She's accused of kidnapping Jeremy Guthrie last Friday.

Hale will undergo a mental evaluation and is scheduled to appear back in court August 31. Bail has been set a $1 million. Hale claims she is a CIA agent and that she was investigating Guthrie's mom. Hale also claims Guthrie's mother is not really his mother.
