San Luis Obispo, CA -- The Launch of the Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 was postponed yesterday due to poor weather conditions. The launch has been rescheduled for today. The Pentagon is testing the unmanned Falcon Hypersonic Technology Vehicle 2 this morning out at Vandenberg Air Force Base. If all goes according to plan, the HTV-2 would be the fastest aircraft ever tested by the military. It's expected to reach Mach 20, which is 20 times faster than the speed of sound, or up to 13-thousand-miles-per-hour. It's also capable of sending a missile to an identified target within an hour. It'll be the Defense Research Projects Agency's second test flight. Some changes were made after the first test failed in April 2010. If today's test also fails, DARPA will not be building another Falcon HTV.
