The Final Three Days of the California Mid-State Fair

San Luis Obispo, CA -- As the Mid-State Fair starts wrapping up, the youth exhibitors still have a lot of work. Today the cattle are in the show ring again. Starting this morning at 8 o’clock is beef showmanship, and then at 6 o’clock this evening, will be the replacement heifer sale.

Tonight Chicago will be taking the Grand Stand Stage and Spin Doctors will be on the Frontier Stage. You can meet Laurie West of the Coast 101.3 Morning Show today at the El Dorado Broadcasters booth in front of the Frontier Stage.

Saturday is the most important day of the year for many local 4-H and FFA members. Tomorrow the Junior Livestock Auction will take over the Livestock Pavilion. The auction, which usually lasts into the evening starts at 8 o’clock. The Grand Stands will also be transformed for the Country Rodeo Finals tomorrow. Charlie Musselwhite will be on the Frontier Stage. Our sister station, Cat Country 96.1, will make its final appearance at the 2011 Mid-State Fair tomorrow. Mark and Becky will be the booth.

And Sunday, the last day of the fair, the livestock pavilion will be busy with competitions. Round Robin Showmanship kicks off the day at 9 o’clock. The first place winners of showmanship from all the species earlier this week and last week get the option to complete. Then each will be judged on how well they show an animal or species other than their own.

At 11 o’clock, the younger siblings of the 4-H and FFA members will get a chance to show off their skills during Pee Wee Sheep and Hog Showmanship. And the last youth competition of the year is livestock judging. During this competition, object for the exhibitor is to rank the animals in the same order as the judge.

Once again the Grand Stands will be transformed, this time into the arena for the Monster Truck Showdown. New Rock 107.3 will be at the fair to close out the year.
