San Luis Obispo, CA -- You'll see construction if your commute takes you through Johnson Avenue in San Luis Obispo this morning. Starting today, public works will begin work to replace a water line and repair the surrounding pavement near French Hospital. One lane in each direction will stay open, but the Lizzie Street entrance to the hospital will be closed at times, with a detour taking drivers to the Ella Street entrance. The original water line on Johnson Avenue broke in May of last year, causing disruptions to French Hospital and people in the area. Work is expected to wrap up August 22.
