San Luis Obispo, CA -- A transient died after a late Friday night fire at his encampment near Higuera Street and Elks Lane in San Luis Obispo. Firefighters found the encampment about 10:30 fully engulfed and one man with severe burns over his entire body. The man died at French Hospital Medical Center soon after. The man’s name has not been released. Fire investigators are looking into the cause of the flames.
