San Luis Obispo, CA -- San Luis Obispo will be losing its police chief at the end of the year. Chief Deborah Linden made the announcement yesterday morning saying it was time to pass the baton on to somebody new.

Chief Linden’s law enforcement career goes back 28 years. She has served the city of San Luis Obispo since January 2003 and is credited with turning around Mardi Gras behavior, new laws against rowdy partying as well as helping to build relationships between the department and local college students.

A nationwide search for her replacement is expected to begin soon.
