Fresno, CA -- Paso Robles police early yesterday arrested two Fresno residents suspected of stealing $6,000 dollars worth of catalytic converters from vehicles in the city. The alleged thefts happened during the overnight hours of June 11 in a parking lot on Theater Drive. A patrol officer spotted a suspicious vehicle in that same area yesterday. The officer was able to stop the vehicle as it left at a high rate of speed. Police say the driver, 32-year-old Robert Anthony Kajitani, gave false identification and was arrested. Police also arrested the passenger, 32-year-old Billy Jack Curry, after a search of the vehicle turned up one catalytic converter. The men are facing various charges, including possession of stolen property.
