San Luis Obispo, CA -- The San Luis Obispo Police Department arrested a city firefighter yesterday for assault and battery. Officers say the incident happened around 11:30 last Saturday night at Pappy McGregor's Pub and Grill. Officers say someone reported 32-year-old Jory Brigham, of Los Osos, was in the men's bathroom with significant facial injuries, including a bloody nose and mouth. Brigham was at the restaurant with a wedding party. 34-year-old John Mason, of San Luis Obispo, was also there. Mason is a firefighter for San Luis Obispo City Fire Department. While using the restroom, officers say Brigham and Mason got into a fight. They say Mason struck Brigham several times in the face, knocking him unconscious and severely injuring his face. Mason was unharmed in the fight. Police has been investigating since Saturday making the arrest yesterday. He's been charged with assault with great bodily injury, battery with serious bodily injury and inflicting great bodily injury while committing a felony. Mason’s been booked into county jail on $50,000 bail.
