San Luis Obispo, CA -- Local authorities flooded the Avila Beach area early Friday morning searching for two teenagers who went missing overnight. The San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's Department received a call at about 1:15 Friday morning from a mother saying her 16-year-old daughter and her 18-year-old boyfriend didn’t come back to their hotel. The family was visiting the area. The Sheriff's Department soon launched a ground search to find the missing pair. As the night wore on, deputies called in help from the CHP, who dispatched its helicopter, and the Morro Bay Coast Guard to search the water. At about 4:30, authorities found the couple sleeping in a nearby residence. Apparently the two had met some local people and fell asleep at their house. A woman living there woke up from hearing the CHP helicopter. She found the pair, woke them up and sent them back to their hotel. That's when the search efforts were canceled.
