Nipomo, CA — It all started on Thanksgiving Day the Sheriff's Dispatch received a call for service for a missing person, 81-year-old Harold Slagle.
Deputies responded to Nipomo and began searching for him. While on scene, Slagle’s wife told deputies that he had been diagnosed with early onset dementia. She told deputies he had taken his suitcase, got into his 1998 red colored Dodge Dakota and drove away. His wife explained that Harold and she had recently moved from West Covina and were temporarily residing in Nipomo while their home was being built in Paso Robles.
Slagle has been located and reunited with his family. He was located in the Malibu area with the assistance of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's office and the keen observations of a passerby.
