Jackson Garland, the 18-year-old San Luis Obispo High grad who was killed in a car collision near Los Osos on June 18 is being remembered today. A memorial service will be held at San Luis Obispo High school at 4:00 p.m. At 1 p.m. There will also be a small vigil at Sabetta's Pizza and Pasta in Morro Bay at 1:00 p.m. where Garland worked. Meanwhile 22-year-old Alexander Gonzales the Paso Robles man charged with gross vehicular manslaughter and driving under the influence in connection killing Garland was in court Monday morning, where a motion was filed and his bail was upped to $130,000. He did not enter a plea.The District Attorney's Office says Gonzales, who is due back in court July 7 for a bail reduction hearing, has hired his own lawyer.
