Defendant Pleads Guilty To Murder Of Dystiny Myers

One of five people charged in the murder of Dystiny Myers, Ty Michael Hill, will spend the rest of his life in prison.  He pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon to first-degree murder and other charges in the death of Myers, whose body was found near Santa Margarita in September of 2010.

The 15-year-old Myers from Santa Maria had been beaten and burned. As part of the deal made Wednesday, Hill will spend the rest of his life in prison without the possibility of parole.

The trial for three of the remaining defendants will begin the first week in February. There is a fourth defendant who has agreed to testify against the others.
