Shark Spotted Near Jamala Beach


Yesterday at 10:50 a.m., Jalama Beach County Lifeguards witnessed what appeared to be a large shark. The sighting occurred 40 yards offshore from the Jalama Store in approximately 15 feet of water. Victim Identified in Fatal Car Accident


The California Highway Patrol says the man killed in a three-vehicle crash on Highway 41 near Morro Bay this weekend is Thomas Mercer, 77, of Templeton. The crash happened Saturday at around 2:00 p.m. on Highway 41, east of Mission Drive. Three others were injured. Mercer died after being hit head on.

Fire Crews Contained Small Fire in Cambria Yesterday


Fire crews have contained a small spot fire that broke out in Cambria yesterday afternoon. CAL FIRE said the fire at 3080 Santa Rosa Creek Road near Main St. was contained around 6 p.m. Air tankers were on scene and other resources were called in to help fight the fire.
