Dorm Fire Caused By Faulty Electrical Outlet

That dorm room fire at Cal Poly Sunday was caused not by an illegal hotplate but a faulty electrical outlet. An electrician reset a breaker that had shorted and the resulting surge overloaded an electrical outlet.
