Assault and Suicide Incident Being Investigated


Sheriff’s investigators are releasing additional information regarding an assault with a deadly weapon-suicide incident in Los Osos on 9-4-15. Detectives are releasing the name of the suspect involved in that incident as 25-year-old Kelly Neal Turpin of Los Osos. Turpin was a roommate of the 58-year-old victim. Small Brush Fire in Atascadero


There was a vegetation fire near Atascadero last night. The fire was off of Curbaril Avenue, on the east side of Atascadero Pine Mountain Cemetery near the Salinas River. Attacks from the air began after 7. The fire burned a 20 by 50 foot area. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
