Golden Eagle Released After Being Injured by Power Lines


Yesterday, Pacific Wildlife Care released into the wild young golden eagle. The eagle was injured when it struck a power line on Highway 58 earlier this week. Pacific Wildlife Care nursed it back to health. The eagle was released at the Santa Margarita Ranch.

Corruption Alleged in the South County Sanitation District


At its meeting last night, the Sanitation District Board received the Knudson Report on alleged corruption at the district since 2010.  It includes allegations that the district allowed coliforms to enter the ocean near the Pismo Pier, which made surfers ill.  Several surfriders identified and tracked that problem. The 74-year-old Academy Award nominee to receive an award for excellence from actor Alan Arkin.
