Fatal Car Accident Near Los Alamos on Monday

The CHP has identified the victim of a fatal car crash near Los Alamos Monday afternoon.  He’s 25-year-old Abiel Cervantes of Santa Maria. He was riding in a Chevy Malibu driven by 23-year-old Gloria de Jesus Vega when she crossed into oncoming traffic on Highway 101 near Cat Canyon road.   Cervantes was pronounced dead at the scene. The Morro Bay Harbor Patrol rescued four people Sunday afternoon after their boat capsized in the harbor.  The boat was hit by a wave near the mouth of the harbor.  It capsized about 500 feet from the beach. Seven dictators are meeting with President Barrack Obama today and tomorrow in Rancho Mirage. They are the heads of state from the 10 countries in the Assocation of Southeast Asian Nations. Human rights groups are outraged that only three participating countries have elected leaders. The other seven are dictators.

Proposal for New Homes Around Vineyards Denied

The proposal to build 82 homes surrounding the vineyards at Latetia Winery is denied by the San Luis Obispo County Planning Commission. The vote to deny was 3-1.  Commissioner Jim Harrison cast the lone dissenting vote. Commissioner Eric Meyer abstained. The developer is expected to appeal the decision to the full board of supervisors.
