Chase for Stolen Vehicle Ends Peacefully

The California Highway Patrol chased after a stolen vehicle yesterday. Police followed the car on Highway 47 it until they were able to stop it on Paseo Ladera Lane in San Luis Obispo County. The San Miguelito vegetation fire has burned about 832 acres and caused $862,000 in damage since it started at 1:30 Tuesday afternoon on San Miguelito Canyon Road in Lompoc. Atascadero Citizen of the Year and former real estate developer Kelly Gearhart pleaded guilty yesterday in the federal court in Los Angeles to fraud and money laundering charges after scamming investors of up to $20 million. San Luis Obispo County Sheriff's deputies are searching for a bear last seen near Nipomo Regional Park. The bear, which according to KSBY is described as a large, chocolate-covered black bear, was first seen Wednesday morning near Tejas Place.
